Visual Storyteller

II’m Dave Johnson, a photographer and visual storyteller who, along with my wife Rachell, have made Gettysburg our second home. I’m honored to work with some of the region’s most respected organizations, including the Adams County Historical Society (now Gettysburg History), The American Battlefield Trust, Gettysburg Railway, and The Dobbin House Tavern, covering everything from events and aerial work to print licensing and promotional photography.

How It Started

It started with family trips here as a kid. But it wasn't until I picked up some history books and started visiting places like Mount Vernon that I realized the place we'd been going to all those years had shaped this country in ways I'd never fully appreciated. I wanted to learn more. So I came back with a camera, and ended up learning history and photography at the same time, and making some real friendships along the way. Every season since has brought something new. I'm still learning, still exploring.
