I'm Dave Johnson, a photographer and visual storyteller who, along with my wife Rachell, has made Gettysburg a second home. Gettysburg Images was established in 2023, when years of personal passion for the battlefield began gaining real traction with the organizations and people dedicated to keeping this history alive. I'm honored to work alongside some of the region's most respected, including the Adams County Historical Society, The American Battlefield Trust, Gettysburg Railway, and The Dobbin House Tavern.
A camera, some history books, and a place that never let go.
It started with family trips here as a kid. But it wasn't until I picked up some history books that I realized the place we'd been going to all those years had shaped this country in ways I'd never fully appreciated. I wanted to learn more. So I came back with a camera, and ended up learning history and photography at the same time, and making some real friendships along the way. Every season since has brought something new. I'm still learning, still exploring.
